Reviewing an item

Each item in a project has its own review page: the work itself, your client's feedback, every earlier version, and the actions to answer them.

On an item's page
  • See images, video and documents in the browser
  • Read change requests, with links and screenshots
  • Upload a new version of a file or link
  • See earlier versions and what was asked of each
  • Edit the item’s title and description
  • Delete an item that isn’t approved yet
01

Open an item

On a project page, open any item from its step in the journey. The item's page shows the work on the left and a panel beside it with your client's feedback and the version history. On narrow screens the panel sits below the work.

Could we try a warmer palette? The blue feels too cold for the brand.

Answer with a new version. This request then moves to the item’s history.

02

The actions at the top

Beside the item's title you'll find its state and three actions. Edit details changes the title and description. Delete item removes it for good, along with its change requests and history; approved items can't be deleted. Upload new version replaces the file or link with an updated one.

03

Feedback and versions

Each item holds one current file (or link) and is reviewed one version at a time. Your client either approves it or requests changes. A change request shows on the Feedback tab with:

  • The client's note about what to change
  • A reference link, if they added one
  • Up to three screenshots, if your project allows them
  • The version it is about and when it was sent

Answer it with Upload new version. The item moves to the next version and waits for your client's review again, and the request moves to the Version history tab, so you always have a record of what was asked. You can also upload a new version before your client has reviewed, to fix a mistake.

Waiting for reviewChanges requestedApproved

What happens to the old file is a project setting: you choose it when you create the project, and can change it any time under Project settings › Reviews & versions. Replace (the default) deletes it, which keeps your storage low. Keep (paid plans) leaves it downloadable in the item's history, for you and your client. The same setting lets you turn client screenshots off.

Approved items are locked. They can't be replaced or deleted, so your client keeps what they approved. If the work has to change, add a new item to the step for them to review.

04

Edit the details

Edit details opens a short form with the item's title and description. The description shows under the title for you and your client, which is a good place for context on what you delivered.
