Create an invoice from a project
Open a project, go to its Invoices tab and choose New invoice. The invoice is linked to that project and uses its currency. Free users can create 1 invoice per project, Pro users get unlimited invoices.
You can also access all invoices from the Invoices tab of Earnings & invoices.
Add line items
Use the invoice editor to add line items. Each line item has a description, quantity, and unit price. The total is calculated automatically. Add or remove rows as needed to itemize your services.
| Description | Qty | Price | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brand strategy & discovery | 1 | $1,500.00 | $1,500.00 |
| Logo design (3 concepts) | 1 | $2,000.00 | $2,000.00 |
| Brand guidelines document | 1 | $800.00 | $800.00 |
Total $4,300.00
Brand your invoices (paid plans)
Visit Invoice branding (a tab on Earnings & invoices) to choose from four templates: Creative, Minimal, Modern and Professional. You can also add your logo, brand colours and a note for the invoice footer, with a live preview beside the form.
Send it, or share a PDF
Once your invoice is finalized, you can send it directly via the portal or generate a PDF to share with your client. The PDF includes your company details, line items, the total amount, and any custom notes. Clients can view and accept invoices directly through the client portal.
Once your client opens a sent invoice, it shows as Viewed with how long ago, until they accept it, so you can tell "has not seen it" apart from "has seen it and not replied". If an invoice has been viewed for a week without being accepted, you get a reminder notification suggesting a follow-up.
